It is another very long Saturday. After an early breakfast, I drag my luggage over to the check-in and then begin some endless waiting as our flight is over an hour late leaving.
Fourteen hours, two meals, two movies, an e-book and a little shut-eye later, I set foot on Canadian soil at last.
Vancouver is beautiful as ever and putting on some lovely weather. All the flower baskets are out again, but the mountain tops are still sugar coated.
Luckily, my room at the hotel is ready for me soon after I arrive. That gives me time to drop the bags, have a shower and change into something summery before I go out exploring.
Beautiful Stanley Park beckons. One could easily spend a whole day here - like I did last time - but today, I just have a little walk.

Rhododendrons are out in full bloom |
|
Majestic trees everywhere |

From the rose garden. Many roses are flowering well. The splash of white in the back is a may bush. |
Lots of large butterflies are hanging around these blossoms. Elusive as they are, I still manage to capture at least one in each photo. Spot the butterfly.

More beautiful forest. They are so good for the soul. |
|
More blossoms, another Rhododendron, I think. |
It is still very much Saturday as I'm writing this. Just looking at those few photos of today makes me wish there was enough time to go back to the Butchart Gardens.
Who knows what I'll get up to tomorrow. After all, the train doesn't leave until evening.
It is still very much Saturday, but the laptop battery is getting very low and my back very sore from sitting on the bed with the gizmo on my lap.
